Remote Work Policy for L0 Interns

Learning & Mentorship Program

This policy outlines expectations, engagement model, and learning guidelines for L0 Software Development Engineer Interns participating in the company’s learning-oriented internship program.

1. Role Overview

L0 Software Development Engineer Interns (“L0 Interns”) are learning-oriented interns who join the company primarily to build foundational skills, understand real-world software engineering practices, and gain exposure to live product development.

Unlike L1 Interns, L0 Interns are not work-oriented contributors and are not responsible for project delivery, timelines, or sprint commitments.

This role is designed to support guided learning, skill assessment, mentorship, and exposure to Agile, SDLC, and DevOps practices.

2. Engagement Model & Fees

L0 Interns are not paid interns.

After initial screening, interns may opt into a paid internship program by selecting a program stream (Frontend / Backend / QA / etc.) and paying a monthly subscription fee as defined by the company.

The paid L0 program is a mentorship-driven engagement, not employment.

Participation in free or paid L0 programs does not guarantee employment, promotion, or paid project work.

3. Learning Scope & Opportunities

L0 Interns may receive access to:

  • Curated learning resources and skill assessments
  • Project walkthroughs and Knowledge Transfer (KT) sessions
  • Level-up sessions and guided development discussions
  • Doubt-clearing and mentorship sessions
  • Selected live project discussions to observe Agile and DevOps practices

Based on interest and readiness, L0 Interns may be encouraged to contribute voluntarily to internal tools, programs, or open-source projects. Such contributions are optional and non-binding.

4. Schedule, Availability & Flexibility

4.1 Working Expectations

  • No fixed working hours
  • Flexible and self-paced participation
  • Encouraged to attend sessions relevant to learning goals

There is no obligation to follow daily schedules, sprint cycles, or delivery deadlines.

4.2 Sessions & Meetings

Attendance in learning sessions or KT calls is recommended but not mandatory. No penalties apply for missing sessions if expectations are communicated respectfully.

5. Learning Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of personal learning journey
  • Engage sincerely with provided resources
  • Ask questions and seek clarity
  • Respect mentor time and sessions

There is no strict requirement for daily updates, task ownership, sprint deliverables, or performance metrics.

6. Assessments, Progress & Recognition

Skill assessments may be used to track learning progress, recommend next steps, and evaluate readiness for higher responsibility.

Upon completion of learning milestones or program tenure, participation certificates or appreciation may be provided.

Promotion to L1 Intern status, if any, is optional, selective, and based on readiness, assessment outcomes, and organizational needs.

7. Time Tracking (If Applicable)

L0 Interns are not required to maintain daily timesheets.

Optional tracking or reflection exercises are strictly for self-learning purposes and do not imply employment or billable work.

8. Remote Learning Environment Requirements

8.1 Infrastructure

  • Basic internet connectivity
  • Personal device suitable for learning and practice
  • Self-managed learning setup

The company does not provide devices, internet support, or reimbursements.

8.2 Learning Environment

9. Access, Security & Intellectual Property

  • System or code access is limited and controlled
  • Access may be revoked at any time
  • Credentials must not be shared
  • Materials created during sessions may be used by the company for internal or educational purposes

There is no ownership claim by L0 Interns over internal systems or proprietary material.

10. Conduct & Community Guidelines

  • Communicate respectfully
  • Maintain a positive learning attitude
  • Avoid disruptive or unethical behavior
  • Respect mentors and peers

The learning culture promotes curiosity over pressure, growth over comparison, and collaboration over competition.

11. Exit, Discontinuation & Flexibility

L0 Interns may exit the program at any time.

The company may discontinue access in case of policy violations, misconduct, or misuse of resources.

No notice period is required from either side.

12. Disclaimer
